Sep 6, 2018 - If you're looking to create personal folders or PST files then Outlook for Mac does not have this feature. It can only import PST files. Outlook personal folders are very useful as they allow us to create offline copiers of our mail, contacts and tasks for offline access, data backup or transfer to a different computer. ![]() If you have recently had an update install for Outlook 2011 for Mac and now you can't see your local archive folders (.pst or.olm) then it's usually because the update disconnected them. Outlook 2011 for Mac: Auto-Archiving • Open Outlook. • Click Tools in the top menu bar, and then click Rules. • Click Exchange, and then click + in the lower left. • Name the rule Auto Archive or something of your choosing, then under the 'When a new message arrives:' text click Date Recieved in the drop-down menu. • Choose Is Greater Than from the drop-down menu to the right. • Fill in the number of days, then under 'Do the following:' select Move Message. • Chose a folder to save the e-mails to on your computer, and then click OK. • Once the Rules window closes, choose Message in the top menu bar. Go to Rules > Apply, and then click the name of the new rule you just created, e.g. Auto Archive. Outlook 2010 for Windows • Open Outlook and be sure to have the Inbox selected. • Select Folder in the menu, then click on AutoArchive Settings. • Select AutoArchive. • Choose what folder to archive the emails to, how often, etc. (The default option will save archive.pst files in C: users BearPassLogin Documents Outlook Files archive#.pst) • Click OK.
